Nestlé is looking for local investment partners in China after revealing details of plans to build a new dairy farming institute in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang province.
The European food giant is now looking for local partners to establish a 2.5 billion RMB investment fund for the facility, which Nestlé hopes will develop the dairy industry in China. The new facility will see Nestlé work in partnership with the Shuangcheng Government.
Announced in the wake of the latest dairy food safety scare in China, the institute will offer teaching courses and training for Chinese dairy farmers. Featuring a series of training farms, farm owners and workers will be offered support in developing their farm management skills and training on using agricultural technology.
“This new training institute is a continuation of our long-term investment in the future of Shuangcheng to ensure it remains one of China’s leading dairy districts,” said Roland Decorvet, Nestlé China’s chairman and chief executive.
